Water Alarm Program

In our never ending efforts to assist the residents of Maine Township, the Township through it's Office of Emergency Management has implemented a Water Alarm Program that is available to any resident within Maine Township.

The Township recognizes that it has no authority to create projects that will remove conditions that create flooding of low lying areas. Since we cannot assist in this area, we have developed a program in which residents of the Township can purchase a Water Alarm Unit that can be placed in basements or sump wells that will alert homeowners to the fact that they are starting to see either water seepage or sump overflow conditions early enough to take action. These actions could include moving valuables to higher locations in their home, thus reducing costly damage.

The cost to the homeowner is $10 per unit. To purchase one, contact our Office of Emergency Management at 847-297-5911. They will make arraignments with you for you to pick up the alarm at the Township's Town Hall at 1700 Ballard Road in Park Ridge. The only requirement is that you show proof of residency in Maine Township. This can be a drivers license, copy of a water or gas bill, etc.
