Social Activities
- Monthly luncheons at local banquet facilities, attended by hundreds of members, feature a comfortable atmosphere to socialize and enjoy a full course meal and professional entertainment
- Day, evening, and weekend trips include deluxe motorcoach transportation to popular destinations including Broadway musicals, interesting excursions, museums, and other popular places
- Long distance trips and cruises are offered year-round to domestic and international destinations
Recreational Activities
- Social activities include a men's group and a women's tea that meet monthly and offers a variety of interesting programs, entertainment, and speakers
- Fishing outings include bait, lunch, and prizes, and are held during the warmer months at various lakes in the Cook and Lake County area
- Annual fishing derby
- Twilight dining allows members to meet at local restaurants in the early evening and experience fine food and a great social outlet
- Other activities include book reviews, bingo, bowling, movies, and more!
Educational Opportunities
- Computer training classes offered in Windows, word processing, and spreadsheet applications
- Classes in yoga, tai chi, watercolor/oil painting, woodcarving, quilting, crafts, 55 Alive Safety Driving, bridge, pinochle, and piano
- Seminars offered for free or a nominal fee have included RTA's Reduced Fare Program, Healthy Cooking, Rules of the Road, Protecting Your Retirement Nest Egg, and Health and Medication Programs
- Intergenerational programs jointly conducted by MaineStreamers and local school districts for elementary and high school students allow MaineStreamers the opportunity to share their knowledge, experience, education, and skills with students who may not have older relatives nearby to share in their activities, listen to their concerns, and help them with their studies
- Bowling, pinochle tournaments, and book reviews on a semi-regular basis
