Raising Respectful and Responsible Children
Tuesday, March 4, 2008 ~ 7:00 - 9:00 PM
Do you know the single best predictor of a child's academic success and ability to resist drug use is a common family activity that you can do every day? Do you know the simple key ingredients to common-sense parenting? Our fast-paced society tempts us to believe participating in many of the right activities and experiences will provide children all they need to become successful adults. However, that same pace pulls families away from the lifestyle that encourages respect and living with values. How do parents decide the best path to follow? Parenting rules are simple to learn, but they sure are not easy to follow. Parents need support and encouragement to establish a family culture that can stand fast to its identity under pressure to conform to social culture.
Come hear Clinical Psychologist Dr. Margaret Wehrenberg discuss the parenting practices that will help you raise respectful and responsible children. Dr. Wehrenberg previously presented at Maine Township on "The Over-Indulged Child" and "Discipline and the Developing Mind" and has been invited back by popular demand. She is an expert in psychotherapy with children and is a well-known speaker and author. In addition, Dr. Wehrenberg is the co-founder of the Reflex Delay Syndrome Research and Training Institute and has a private practice in Naperville.
