May 1, 2008 — Five Maine Township employees participated in the TLC talent show fundraiser Foundation Follies III. With the stage name of The Maine Swing Things, Michelle Biondo, Monica Jaroszewicz, Richard Lyon, Regina Messina, and Victoria Rizzo performed a swing line dance known as the Shim Sham to rousing applause. This year's Foundation Follies, which featured an American Idol format complete with judges, was a huge hit. There were 151 people in attendance, and the event raised a much-needed $5,000 for TLC.
Pam Surber, TLC director, said of all event volunteers, "Each one of you played a major part in making that happen, since the quality of the show dictates the success of the Follies. You get the credit for making it an evening to remember! I can't thank you enough for sharing your talent, humor, good sportsmanship (sportswomanship, too) with us last week. Your support means more than I can say."
