Highway Commissioner Provenzano Presented with Leonardo da Vinci Award of Excellence
May 23, 2008 — Maine Township Highway Commissioner Robert Provenzano was presented the prestigious Leonardo da Vinci Award of Excellence
on Sunday, May 4 by the Order Sons of Italy in America at Drury Lane, Oak Brook. The Order Sons is the oldest Italian-American organization in the country.Commissioner Provenzano was presented with the award in the government category at a gala reception and ceremony where he was recognized for 16 years of public service as well as his work on Maine Township's Green Fleet Manual and a concern for the environment. Along with the Order Sons of Italy in America, Provenzano is an active member of the Shrine of Our Lady of Pompeii Church and is a member of the Italian American War Veterans.
"I am thankful to the Order Sons of Italy for this honor in recognition of our work to help reduce fuel consumption and pollution," Provenzano said.
