Maine Township Offers Paper Recycling for Residents
June 18, 2008 — Maine Township has partnered with AbitibiBowater Paper Retriever recycling to collect paper goods from residents. Members of the community are encouraged to drop off their paper recyling in the bin located in the northwest side of the parking lot of the Maine Township Town Hall at 1700 Ballard Road in Park Ridge. Township employees will be using the bin to recycle paper as well. The program's proceeds will not only go towards helping the Emergency Food Pantry and Adventure Maine Township Summer Camp, but the local environment as well.AbitibiBowater provides recycling bins to organizations for use in fundraising. Maine Township residents can help by collecting the paper items listed below. Cardboard and phone books will not be accepted. The bin will continue to be filled throughout the year, providing the Township with funds for the Emergency Food Pantry and Adventure Maine Township Summer Camp.
"We are very pleased to have received the bin at Town Hall," says Maine Township Supervisor, Carol Teschky. "Not only are we providing extra help for the Emergency Food Pantry, but we're keeping the local environment green by recycling a large amount of paper goods."
Residents are encouraged to gather paper at their homes and workplaces. The following types of paper will be accepted:
- Newspaper
- Magazines
- Catalogs
- Envelopes
- Folders
- Fax and Copy Paper
- Shredded Paper (paper bagged)
- Colored Paper
- NO CARDBOARD OR PHONE BOOKS PLEASE
