The Township Board and staff of Maine Township wish to express their sorrow and deepest sympathy on the destruction and losses in Haiti. We know that many of our area residents have family living or working there and pray for their safe return and swift recovery for the country.

Maine Township has found that there are two primary ways to obtain information about loved ones. The first is for those residents seeking information on US Citizens who are working in Haiti. They can contact the US State Department at 1-888-407-4747.

For information on families of Haitians, the International Committee of Red Cross has set up a special website where you can check lists of those who have already been located or search for people you are trying to locate. That web site is www.familylinks.icrc.org/.
