Community Garage Sale

View photos and highlights from this year's event. Our 11th annual Community Garage Sale will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2016.

Maine Township's 10th annual 80-family Community Garage Sale will be held, rain or shine, Saturday, September 26, 2015 from 9 AM to 2 PM in the parking lot of Maine Township Town Hall, 1700 Ballard Road, Park Ridge. Space reservations for Maine Township residents will be accepted beginning August 3 at 9 AM and on August 10 at 8:30 AM for all others. Spaces, which must be paid for at the time of reservation, are sold on a first-come, first-served basis and always sell out quickly.

No donated merchandise will be accepted for resale again this year. But, residents can still participate in other ways.

Garage Sale
How to Get Involved
  • Reserve a space to sell your own treasures
  • Make a financial donation
  • Come by to shop on the day of the sale
Garage Sale Space Reservations
We are sold out of garage sale spaces for this year. Spaces are typically available for the following fees:
  • $25 for 8' x 16' outdoor space
  • $30 for 8' x 16' premium outdoor space
  • Table rentals are available for $10 additional
  • $50 for indoor space inside the garage (fee includes table rental)
The event is organized by the MaineStay Department of Maine Township and sponsored by Whole Foods Market, Journal & Topics Newspapers, Senior News 50 and Better, Republic Services, Parkway Bank, Village Bank and Trust, Highway Commissioner Robert Provenzano, Cook County Commissioner Peter Silvestri, and State Representative Michael McAuliffe.

Proceeds from the event benefit the Adventure Maine Township Summer Camp and the Township's Emergency Food Pantry. The camp program, coordinated by the Township's MaineStay division, gives at-risk youth, ages 8 through 13, the opportunity to participate in cultural and recreational experiences to which they may not otherwise have access. The food pantry, a service of the General Assistance department, serves an average of over 200 families per month throughout the year and even more during holiday periods, but the demand never ends.

"This annual event is not only fun, but also raises money for two worthy causes," says Township Supervisor Carol A. Teschky. "We encourage our Township residents to participate, to give financial support, or just come by to shop."
