President Declares Cook County a Disaster Area
August 20, 2010 — Maine Township stands committed to provide its residents with timely information about the Damage Relief Process following the storms of July 24, 2010 and the damage that resulted from power outages and flooding.
The President has declared Cook County a Disaster Area for Individual Assistance.
This means that centers will be established for the processing of claims and other help from the Federal Government. It will take some time, however, to get these centers up and running. Until then, we urge you to either go to the FEMA website or call 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) (available 7 days a week from 7:00 AM through 10:00 PM) and start the registration process with the Federal government for possible relief. As soon as we know the locations of the FEMA offices, we will make that information available through our office on Ballard Road.
